How tight is too tight for a cpu cooler

So recently did a new build (see build specs below) and when I installed my cooler I tightened it up as tight as I could, any problems this could cause with crushing the cpu ?, cpu performance is excellent with no thermal problems, its just a thought is all

i always go by the rule of, firmly tight but not cranked down with force

over-tightening has more chance of damaging the standoff threads and mounting bracket than the actual CPU

I would definitely say mine is screwed down firmly, but not firm enough too take the thread off the screws

yeah, as long as it's on securely and evenly, then it's all good

I tightened mine up a fair bit because previously it almost popped off despite being extremely tight, think it was the bracket or something, so wanted to avoid that as much as possible !
