Unable to mount USB SSD in ubuntu linux

Bought a samsung usb ssd for transferring vm's quicker, but upon plugging in it says unable to mount

See if there is an entry in the disk list

sudo fdisk -l

Then try mounting it with

sudo mount -t ntfs /dev/sdb* /media

* depends on the result of sudo fdisk -l

You don't see the usb ssd on the disk list?

comes up with /dev/sdb1, so i put 1 in and ran the command and it couldnt find it

Try gparted and see if its possible to mount.

Thanks for your help, it seems like its more effort than its worth though having to do all this when I have to transfer 20 VM's every hour, ill just get more memory sticks !
