Hey there,

My pc specs are
Processor- Intel Pentium dual core E2200 2.2 Ghz
Mobo- ASUS P5SD2-VM
GPU – Nvidia Geforce Gt 610 2 gb
4 gb ddr2 ram
So i was going to change my cpu to core 2 duo E7500 2.93 Ghz (getting really cheap ,just for $9)

Here is the list of CPUs that my motherboard support -
https://www.asus.com/ae-en/Motherboards/P5SD2VM/HelpDesk_CPU/

My questions are:
1. Do i need to upgrade my bios in order to make the chip work? I have never upgraded my bios before so steps will be great.
2. When should i do it. Before installing the new cpu and updating with old one or after installing the new cpu?
3. Can i overclock it in my mobo?
4. Should i buy i new fan for it (E7500 is not coming with fan)? Or the old stock fan will work that come with e2200?
5. Will there be significantly upgrade in performance ?
6. Should i buy thermal paste for it?or buy a new fan because they come with thermal paste on them already

I do not know a whole lot about computers compared with most of the people on this website, just enough to hook up a new rig and install windows, do basic troubleshooting, etc. but I do not understand most of the technical terms that are thrown around regarding hardware, so please excuse me if I am making some simple mistakes when I say the things I do.

Solution
To be on the safe side its better to update the bios update if there is any and its before installing new CPU
the CPU stock fans are same so you dont need to buy it but you need the thermal paste for it
yes you will see the noticable performance increase in your system
