Hey, so for like 6 months my custom built gaming PC worked fine, but then when playing games it would close the game after about 30 minutes of gameplay, the screen would go black, then come on again in a few seconds, at which time the majority of background apps had closed, as well as I could visually see the app icons refreshing on my desktop. At first I thought the problem was due to not having a powerful enough power supply, as the online calculator I had originally used had lead me to buy one that, when I then looked, may have not been providing enough power.

It's now gotten to the point where I can't even use it. When I turn it on and try to do anything, it just doesn't do anything - the computer turns on, I can log in, and the mouse functions, but I can't interact with anything - it reacts to the fact that you're trying to open a program‬, but it just never opens it. It also won't install/delete any programs. Before it got to this stage, if I was able to open a piece of software, within 5 minutes the screen would go black, then when it came back on everything would be closed, and all the icons on my desktop would refresh.

It's also got to the point now that I can hear what I'm imagining is the hard drive clicking, but before you say that's the problem, that's a recent development, and wasn't happening when all of these problems initially arose.

I have no idea how to test to find out what specific part of the PC isn't working, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I could help you.Try to take out the storage device and get into the bios by mashing the DEL or F12 key.And if your system wont work at all,try another psu. This will test if your storage device or psu are faulty. Also, tell me your version of windows you were running...

Is there anything I've missed apart from the CPU?
