How to underclock GTX 1050 TI

Hi all,

I'd like to ask you how can I underclock GPU clock and memory clock?
I really don't need memory running at 7000 MHz when working in idle/2D. It makes GPU hot and fans must kick in.

Auto memory and GPU clocks are behaving very strangely, first memory works under 1000 MHz, then it pops up to 7000 for no apparent reason, making temperatures go up from high 40 to 60 C until fans kick in, I have Gigabyte GV-N105TWf2OC-4GD version of the card.

Thanks for your help.

If you installed the driver correctly it will downclock iself to around 500mhz. This is a built in power saving feature that gets used when the gpu is not in use.

Drivers downclock GPU clock to 747 MHz and memory clock to 1620 MHz when monitors go to sleeping mode, but when they wake up, they bust GPU clock to 940 MHz and memory clock to 5000 MHz in idle/2d mode. I don't know why. Maybe because I'm using 4 monitors? Is it possible to override dirvers instructions lock in 747 MHz/1620 MHz mode? Everything works fine at these frequencies and GPU stays under 40 C.

MSI Afterburner allows me only -400 MHz underclock on core clock and -1000 MHz on memory clock. They are too marginal (GPU default clock is 1443 MHZ and 7008 MHz on memory clock). Card still warms above zero fan limitation, it stabilizes at 70 C, which is too much for idle mode. Is there a way around these afterburner limitations?

With 4 monitors it has to go that fast to maintain the lowest power draw possible. It's as simple as either do something fast and get it over with or take longer and more energy to do the same task.

So there is no way around it? I wouldn't care about clock frequencies, it's just that higher frequencies raise GPU's temperature and fan enters in constant on/off fan mode, sounding quite annoying.

Use afterburner to set a costum fan curve. This way you can tell it to stay at a constant speed up until lets say 65c then it can start spinning faster.
