I am going to buy new parts (i5 2500 and a Asus Sabertooth p67) and I have read that the getting a new motherboard will make windows not boot. I don't have to back up anything because I have nothing special on my computer. So my question is what is the fastest way to wipe my HDD?

Solution
I assume that you will be re-installing windows. if so the installer can delete the partition and create a new one and format it. it can also format the drive prior to installing a fresh windows on it if you do not want to mess around with the partitioning of the drive.

quickest easiest way I know is the windows installer

If your hard drive has operating system installed on it:

Once you get the new parts,
Create a bootable USB by downloading Windows from HERE; before installing the new parts or use a different computer.
Simply install windows, delete all partitions and create new ones during the windows installation process. This will automatically delete all data on the hard drive.

If the operating system is not installed on the hard drive,
Go to "This PC". Right-click on the drive and click format. NTFS format is recommended.

NOTE: Make sure to link your microsoft account with your windows so you won't have to buy windows again. Microsoft allows you to transfer windows from one computer to the next. You might have to deactivate windows on the old computer first.
