Solution
Been doing this since the early days of the 80's you don't need an electrostatic pad and grounding wire, or anti static gloves. lol
but you will need;
Philips screwdriver #2 #1
12$ multimeter @ home depot
magnifying lenses
mag-light ( get one for the forehead. i.e. keep hands free)
mini screwdrivers set Philips and hex (for laptops)
99.9% electronic Isopropyl alcohol
"air" cans

That covers 99% of your need

useful parts to have
a low end pcie video card (like a GT710/720) to test pcie graphic slots
a bootable Usb drive with Kaspersky Anti virus Suite on it.
a bootable Usb with memtest x86 on it
a Usb cdrom drive
a usb external drive with bootable OS and series of utilities like CCleaner, ADWCleaner, and such to fix a non working...

the ez dock I use permits 3.5 and 2.5, had it for a couple of years, its something similar to this one... you could get athe dual slotted models if you really need such thing, but even for duplicating I just make and ISO and use the single slot.

oh and forgot... a good music library to create a relaxing ambiance in your shop. Personally runs an older pc for web searching (drivers) and music in my shop, I love streaming music, that I don't have to change channels....
I usually run Lush Radio , its a jazzy-blues-hip/hop-techno-dance mix http://ice1.somafm.com/lush-128-mp3

On a side note, those ones like mine, you can sit a laptop drive in and it will work. I can say start slowly, at least in my area, pc repair has really dropped off I think. Everyone seems to be going toward phones and mobile devices. I have a normal 9-5 thankfully, but I do pc work on the side and can say I don't get near the calls I used to.
