Hi guys just want to ask. I overclock my RAM to 2933mhz on my Setup. But i notice some strange thing just 1 minor thing nothing serious. After the pc is turned off for a long time for example i turned it off at night and open it up this morning. The first thing happens when i press the power button is that it blinks and there's the boot sound and restart then after that it goes on a normal boot.

Is that normal on my system? When i overclock the ram to 2666mhz this never happen. Just curious if its normal to encounter 1 reboot before opening the PC. Thank you!

Solution
If the performance increase from 2666 to 2933 is worth it to you, I'd raise the voltage and SOC voltage (no more than 1.1v on SOC voltage, or at least, I wouldn't....especially at that speed). If you're not seeing much in the way of a performance increase....why bother? Run it where it's stable.

System specs? If you're running a Ryzen CPU, that occasionally happens when the memory is clocked higher. Have you done any stability testing for the memory? Updated to the latest bios?

Sorry forgot to include the specs.

Ryzen 5 1400
Gigabyte AB 350 Gaming 3
G.skill Trident Z RGB 3000mhz 2x8GB
Gigabyte GTX 1050 2gb G1 Gaming

I already research about overclocking since ryzen has a default speed of 2133mhz so i tried 2666mhz for 1 week. Then i tried putting it on 2933mhz. I notice that when there's no power at all it reboots then goes on a norma boot after 1 reboot.

Yes the bios is updated to its lates version F7 Agesa. I havent done any test for my memory. Do you know any software so i can test?

The XMP profile should set it to run at 1.35v. You may need to increase the voltage to keep it stable. What was the memory rated to run at? For a daily clock, and with decent air flow in the case, you're ok up to 1.4v....but I wouldn't go any higher than that for a daily clock.

The speed is at 2933mhz after using the XMP profile and Setting it to 2933mhz i didint do anything after that because at first its good. But when the PC is turned of it beeps 3 times then restart. Maybe it requires more power? And yes i have a decent airflow i have NZXT case which quite spacious.

SO what do i need to make the ram stable? I just want to utilize the RAM. For now running at 2933mhz at 1.35v seems fine but i dont know what will happen if the issue on rebooting at first will cause.

Stability in overclock, especially on the system memory, is very important. Unstable memory can cause write errors on your drives, and even in the OS, and cause HUGE problems down the road. So, when overclocking memory, making sure it's stable, and not writing errors, is of significant importance.

As for the boot issue. When memory is at the edge of being stable, it will sometimes fail the memory training / sub tests done by the motherboard at startup, and reboot itself.

Thank you! I will just run at 2666mhz there's nothing much difference in performance though just some benchmarks but doesnt matter. It increase for about less than 10%. And i don't want to mess with the RAM voltage. Thank you for your time.
