I have an intel pentium 3.00ghz and a gigabyte ga-h81m-s2pv motherboard.
That's an old computer and i want to make it a bit faster. What's a good 8gb ddr3 dimm2 ram kit? I'm thinking about HyperX Predator 8GB DDR3-1866MHz but I'm a new pc builder and i don't know if this ram its ok for this pc. I will upgrade the processor probably soon , but first i want to upgrade the ram because the old ram died..

overall it is possible to use another DIMM to replace the 1 that died. But overall you will be better off just replacing them all, if you can that is, as using DIMMs from separate kits, although they my be the same model, manufacturer, versions, etc. The chance for them to not work together at all is still there.

I found a ram stick from another computer.. its a crucial ct51264ba160bj.c8ff ram stick 4gb..i search the internet and i found that crucial ct51264ba160bj and crucial ct51264ba160bj.c8ff are a bit different in their look. I cant find another .c8ff anywhere. Its ok if i add a normal stick ct51264ba160bj next to .c8ff to make this build 8gb ram? They are the same type of ram they are from the same company and they have the same specs , they just look a bit different
