So I've been having this problem for the past few weeks. Sometimes, even when I'm running stock, my PC stops displaying outright, the fans still work, the aio pump still works, everything works, just the monitor screen goes black and looses connection. The only thing that does stop is sound, so I know it must be a hard crash of some sort. I checked if it was the gpu but it wasn't. A light located to the close left side of the dim slots starts blinking orange (long orange light with short pauses) I couldn't find anything online on this issue.

My rig:
Ryzen 3 1200
Vengeance RGB DDR4
ASUS B350 Strix motherboard
Western digital hard drive
CX 450 PSU

Okay, so if the motherboard is flashing orange, it means something`s wrong with the power supply. If the lights are blinking solidly, it`s most likely a motherboard issue.

One thing you could try is removing everything from power but the motherboard and one stick of ram. If it`s still blinking orange, it`s probably an motherboard issue.

In my case it was exactly the same problem with two different motherboards (Gigabyte and Asus Rog Strix B350-F). You know what was causing it in my case? Elgato HD60 (possibly defective). While it was plugged into the USB, that's what would happen from time to time. As soon as I unplug it, cut the power to the MB, wait for few seconds, and then plug everything back in (without HD60 of course), everything works normal and it never happens again... you guessed it right... until I plug HD60 again.

Defective USB device will cause this for sure, and it was my problem. To test it, I brought it to my studio where I work, and plugged it into one of my machines. It worked half day, and that same machine started showing me exactly the same signs.

Replaced HD60 recently with HD60S and haven't had a single problem since.

Cheers!
