Mixing RAM brands with the same speed and size. Will it work?

I just bought a G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-2400 2x4gb. Unfortunately, one stick does not work. I tried it on all my memory slots and my computer would not boot up. Since i bought this overseas i could not get it replaced. So I was wondering if installing one Kingston Hyper X Fury DDR4-2400 4GB stick in Dual Channel mode could work with my G.skill? Any ideas and suggestions? Thanks!

The answer is probably since it's low end ram anyway. Anytime you mix even the exact same model it may or may not work. The more different they are the less likely it is to work. Worth a shot either way.
