So I know that the generally accepted knowledge surrounding gpu and gpu temps for a long lifespan is to keep the gpu under 80C and the cpu under 70C. In my rig I meet those requirements pretty closely, with my cpu spiking above 70C for a second or two on rare occasion. What I want to know is, how long will my parts really last? Not just in terms of obsolescence, but how long will they remain physically undamaged by heat? 5 years? 10 years? What?
My rig includes a gtx 1070 and an i5 7600k at 3.8Ghz by the way, if that helps.

If you stay at or under manufacturer's recommended temperatures and baring any other problems chances are they would last indefinitely. It's more of a question of voltage than heat.
