PC turns off 2 seconds after i power it up.

As the title says, i am experiencing this problem as of today. The computer components inside my case are about 2 years old (except PSU which is 4 years old and GPU which is 1 year old) so the computer is relatively "new". I did not make any change at all and this problem started on its own just like that. The strange thing that happens is that if i unplug my PSU and then plug it again and switch it on, the computer powers up automatically, though it turns off 2 seconds later again. This doesnt happen if i just turn the power supply switch to "off" without unplugging it and then back on..Does anyone have any idea about what might be the issue here? i would really appreciate any help..thank you in advance..
My PC configuration is this:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690
M/B: Gigabyte Z97 HD3
RAM: 2 x 8GB Kingston Hyper X Savvage
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X
PSU: Corsair TX850M (850 Watt).

sounds like it might be PSU failure

disconnect everything from the PSU

Clear cmos on the mobo

reconnect everything, try and power on

If it still fails, remove the GPU and try and power on with your display connected to the onboard graphics

Ok i have an update although i dont know how important it is. It seems that the pc turned on even when i didnt unplug the psu (just had it turned off). of course with the same issue. Now my tower is old and my reset button was already faulty so i had it removed over a year ago. i was thinking that it could be the power switch that got faulty this time. So i switched off my PSU, unplugged it and then i removed the power switch cable from the front panel pins in the motherboard. Then i plugged my psu back on and turned the switch on and the computer did not turn on. Could this be an indication that the power button went faulty or is it something else? then i tried to start the computer by touching the two power pins with a screwdriver as some people suggest online. it didnt seem to work for me though and i am a bit scared to try it again cause maybe i could damage it? if i plug the power button cables back on, the pc turns on again.

I tried to switch the PSU on and then connect the power button cables to the front panel pins of the motherboard. Once i did that, the computer powered on by itself and when i saw that, i immediately unpluged the cable from the pins again as fast as i could. The computer booted normally this time and stayed on. So i suppose this is it. The power button is faulty. I entered BIOS settings and activated the "power on by keyboard" option as a temporary solution untill i buy a new tower.
