Trying to install software for a Belkin AC wifi dual band USB adapter (model F9L1106v1) on a Windows 7 desktop, and when I put the CD in, it says "1152: Error extracting C:/users/user/appdata/local/temp/{63646EC4 to the temporary location"

I can't get past this error screen. When I go via Explorer to Users / User, there's no Appdata folder. I haven't even gotten to the portion where i plug the adapter in yet. Any ideas for helping? Thanks!

Test the installation on another computer.

Determine if "USB adapter not found" stays with your computer or follows the adapter.

If the former try another USB port. Another failure may indicate a USB problem of some sort.

If the latter the adapter is probably bad.

One thing that has worked for me a couple of times is to put a USB device on the end of a USB extension cable. Just to change the active USB male connector being plugged into the host computer. Just a different physical fit and a workable connection may result.

Usually done with USB wireless adapters. The extra USB cable also permits raising the wireless adapter up and about and can improve transmission and reception. (Versus being plugged into the back of a desktop sitting on the floor...)

With all those options, my hopes were up! But even though the adapter works on another computer, it wouldn't work on this one. I also tried other usb plugins, and those worked (flash drive, wireless mouse), and other usb ports. They all worked. But when I put the adapter back in to several ports, it could never detect it. Also tried using a different wireless adapter, and that wouldn't detect either. And the "plug into an , tension usb cord" idea, which also didn't work. I just knew one of those would be the solution...but dang! Apparently the desktop just refuses to recognize wireless usb adapters??
