Is the Ryzen 5 1400 good enough for streaming?

I plan on building a new pc, and can only afford a ryzen 5 1400. I want to do streaming and recording videos, and I want to know if it would be high quality (Not grainy) and smooth to stream and record? If so, what are the best settings on OBS?

Solution
Yeah you can totally stream with a Ryzen 5 1400.

So for quality settings, you'll want to limit to 720P 60fps or maybe 1080P 30fps and use a bit rate less than 10mbps, also if your using OBS, set it to ultrafast or something like that, that should free up some CPU resources.

But, if you have a GPU with hardware encoding, just use the GPU for streaming instead.

Ryzen R5 1400 will run about the same as the i7-4770k as far as IPC goes, and with the 8 threads possible, it'll do ok, as long as you stick with performance settings vrs quality settings. Cs:go won't be bad, it's single thread heavy, so there's room to move around. Watchdogs like to use 8 threads if possible, so that'll be an issue with streaming wanting to eat up cpu resources. Same for pubg and h1z1 which are both hard on cpu usage.

I just got my ryzen 1400 with a b350 motherboard and used the stock cooler and oc it to 3.8 and the max temps I got we're about 60c. And I did cpuz bench and it was on par with i7 6700k. Then again the 6700k was stock speed but that's pretty powerful for the 150 I paid for it. With 4c and 8T at speeds about the same as a i7 6700k I don't see why you couldn't stream anything. I'd go 6gb 1060 over 3gb all day tho. I use an Rx 560 4gb oc edition by Asus and overclocked it passed 1400 and it did fine. Thanks JW.org

I have a lot of experience regarding the ryzen series and streaming as a whole. CSGO won't be an issue at all but pubg and watchdogs could give you some trouble due to the fact that they are heavily reliant on multi-threading. If you have OBS setting on low and you have the game settings turned down then you should be able to stream at a reasonable quality.
