Is a full coverage cooler important for TR? The only ones I know of that currently offer full coverage are the offerings from Noctua and Enermax. Everything else seems to "adapt" to TR and not completely cover its surface. I'm set on an AIO liquid solution and the Enermax cooler is currenty not available. Thus my question: Is a full coverage solution for TR?

If your dreams are of 24/7 operation of 16 cores at 4 GHz, I'd get a waterblock that covers the entire heat shield, or nearly so....

The first several reviews did not have these, and seemed to work OK, but, likely temps might be 8-15C higher than what could be achieved...

for threadripper just do a custom water loop cooling and be done with it... for that cpu i think this should come as standart :) this way you will now for sure that the cpu is cooled normaly . as for the nesecity of the full coverege Jayztwocents has a new vid of his own threadripper build and there he explained why the full coverege is NEEDED for this cpu :)

I actually did see that one but he doesn't actually state WHY full coverage is needed or preferred over other solutions that have less coverage. For obvious reasons full coverage would seem logically better however all the full overage water cooling solutions that I know of (EKWB and Enermax products) are currently unavailable... I should wait yeah?
