Microphone mysteriously stopped working

I have been using my new headset the Plantronics RIG 500HD with no issue at all, when suddenly the microphone stopped working during gameplay. I know it isnt a hardware issue as it works fine on my laptop. The headset itself still plays sound fine but the microphone picks up no sound as if it isnt plugged in. Both the headset and microphone are selected as default audio devices. Currently using windows 10.

Press "WIN" + "I" to go into Windows Settings.

Then select "Gaming" to get into the Game Bar Settings.

Would not expect that some setting got toggled during actual play but no harm in looking around and making sure that all the settings are as they should be or as you need them to be.

E.g.: "WIN" + "Alt" + "M" toggles the microphone.
