I was having some trouble trying to install my CPU cooler. After applying thermal paste, I had to flip the motherboard with the loose cooler to screw in the screws. On first try the CPU cooler seperated slightly from the CPU before I could screw it in.
Now I am just wondering, does this mean that I have to remove all the thermal paste and apply some new, or is it going to be fine since it was new paste and was only seperated for a few seconds?

Solution
as long as it spread evenly it should be fine

if you wanted to be 100% sure before connecting everything, then clean it and re-apply

alternatively, power everything up, check the CPU temps

if everything is ok, then great... if it's getting too warm, remove the cooler and re-apply paste
