PC no longer turns on - PSU seems fine - Motherboard possibly?

Hi,

I woke up this morning to my PC not turning on, absolutely nothing - not even a fan or a beep of any kind.
I immediately assumed it was the PSU and did the pin test, to which it gave power and turned on my gpu/case fans and hard drive, would this be a safe assumption to make that it is likely the motherboard that is the root of the problem here?

Thanks

Not necessarily, the paperclip test only checks if the PSU is able to get power to boot, it does not signal how MUCH power the PSU is receiving or distributing. A multimeter can be used to identify this.

So a BAD PSU can still pass a paperclip test. What is your entire system spec? Including PSU make and model. Unbranded, unknown brand, or cheap PSUs are inherently known for causing multiple issues.
