Hello,
is it worth to put better RAM than 1600 in i7 3770 system?
I currently have 1866 8gb and wondering does it pay off to put better speed and latency RAM in it? If it does, what is the best recommended type of memory and of which brand?
I don't intend to upgrade CPU to newer gen. so I'm sticking with it.

Does your RAM actually run at 1866?
I also have a system with 3770 and tried various RAM 2333 and 2600 and neither worked above 1600Mhz even when XMP selected.

Also important to note that faster RAM makes almost no difference and you are basically always better off spending the extra money on a better GPU instead of better RAM.

No not if you already have 8gb 1866 kit. A 2400mhz kit with tight timings may increase average fps by a few frames in some games, but I certainly don't think it would be enough to justify the price of a new kit. Generally I don't recommend people upgrade RAM just for faster speeds, it will never be worth the money. I would just start saving up for a more meaningful upgrade.

That's actually a little dated but true when it came out. Some newer games like Fallout 4 and BF1 do actually scale pretty well with ram and racing games (not grid though) have always scaled well. They have been the historical outlier in gaming. Generally speaking though it's not typically worth the money unless you need to replace all your ram regardless. Say needing more capacity and you can't find the same make model you had or your stick died and you can't find your make and model, situations like that is where i would say it may be worth it.

Good thinking. However I've just learned that Lenovo motherboard doesn't support XMP which I've overlooked so the RAM runs only on 1600 and my dilemma is therefore solved.
