I'm looking for the most powerful AGP graphics card in order to refurbish an old Compaq Presario 6000 from the year 2000. Current PC Specs are

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.66 GHz
512 MB DDR Ram
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Direct X 9.0
ProsavageDDR Onboard Graphics Card, 32 MB RAM
80 GB HDD, second hard drive slot with connectors available.

I am considering upgrading from 512 MB to 2 GB DDR RAM

Is it possible for me to get an AGP variant of the AMD ATI Radeon HD 4850 to fit into my graphics card slot? If that graphics card is not adaptable into the AGP type, should I go and buy a 4670 or a 3850 to refurbish my fossil PC?

Thanks, please respond ASAP

Oh, and would an upgrade to 2GB (I have two DDR Ram slots) be beneficial to my PC's performance?

Hi elbert.

I know that there is a variant of the AMD ATi Radeon HD 3850 with support for one full gigabyte of Graphics Memory.

Is an AGP version with 1G graphics memory on the market?

Thanks
