So I got this PC and I want to use it for playing some recent games but I have no idea where to begin with. I´m on a budget and every forum and page recommend different things like processor-graphics card relation and benefits. I´m so freaking confused. anyway here is my used newly (but used) PC

Motherboard: AMD ASRock 970 Extreme3 (CPUSocket)
Proccesor: AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight-Core Processor 3.1 GHz
Ram: 16.0GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series 2048MB
HDD: 1TB Seagate ST31000340SV (SATA) - for media files
120GB KINGSTON SVP200S3120G (SSD) - for OS and some software

My intention is to be able to play some recent games like tomb raider, overwatch or maybe rocket league at close to steady 30fps 720p-1080p and aceptable visuals, hell, even playing half-life 2 at full visuals and steady 30fps woulld be a victory (my computer gets it 15fps at HD
so theres something definetly wrong). I already understand that the crappiest part is the graphics card and that is priority number one (hope I´m not wrong) but what video card should I get? Like I said there´s so many things I still don´t understand with te AMD vs Intel or Nvidia.
