Hello,

This is my very first build (wooo....), and I guess I got in over my head because I am unable to post currently. The specs are:

Right now i have the motherboard, RAM, cpu w/ fan, PSU, and graphics card installed in the case and hooked up. Whenever i turn it on, the case fan, CPU fan, and graphics fan all start. There is no beeping or any additional LED's on the motherboard doing anything. Removing both sticks of ram still does not produce any beeps. Connecting a monitor via hdmi to the video card does not give any output. Connecting a keyboard to USB shows that the keyboard doesn't receive power. The only thing that is coming to my mind is that, when i removed the CPU fan, i accidentally put a finger on the bottom where the stock paste was. I made a fingerprint in probably 1/7 of the paste, but it was not very deep. This is the only thing I can think of that could be causing this behavior.

Having read through the guide here, my results were:

1. Read through the entire manual.
2. Yes, the connector is an 8 pin one, it is plugged in.
3. Yes, 6 holes in the motherboard so I used 6 standoffs under those holes.
4. yes, made sure the video card was completely flush
5. yes, there seems to be only one connector and it is connected.
6. Tried it with both, then each one separately in each different slot. No difference.
7. yes, pushed them in until they clicked.
8. yes, there are only 2 ram slots possible.
9. yes
10. yes, made sure the triangles were matched up
11. i did not see any bent pins.
12. its stock, but again i did accidentally put my finger on it before installing
13. yes, fan is plugged in and works
14. once again, finger in the paste. it was a screw fan.
15. no, no loose wires or screws around the motherboard
16. yes, i made sure to walk into my bathroom and touch my faucet on several occasions while i was working
17. Im not sure if my case does or does not have a speaker, or what i need to do to get one (if my motherboard even supports it)
18. yes i did, the power LED and reset LED both work fine and i double checked the other pins.
19. yes
20. pretty sure it is
21. yes, i popped out the battery and put it back in after 20 seconds
22. i believe the only one i have is on the video card
23. did this, I completely disassembled and reassembled every part of my machine and it still didn't work. unplugged everything, removed the graphics card and motherboard, removed ram sticks, removed cpu cooler, then reattached and reconnected everything to achieve the same result

So there it is. The only ideas I have is that me touching the cpu paste is causing it to not function, or that i need to somehow connect a speaker to hear the beep codes if they are happening. This was my first build, so i researched as much as I could but i am not sure what to do here. My local computer shop that handles this kind of stuff doesn't open until Monday, so I figured i would ask the community's help to see if i can somehow get this solved before then.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and if any additional info is needed please let me know and i will supply it.

Solution
Good post.

Ask ASRock support if they have any known issues with the that specific geil memory part number on your MB with a ryzen5 1600.

Glad you ordered the speaker.

Next debugging needs the speaker. It's pull all the parts except PSU, MB, CPU and CPU fan. No other wires connect to the PSU or the MB. Then see if it POSTS and beeps "no memory". If it doesn't beep "no memory" then RMA the MB first, then the PSU then the CPU. If it beeps "no memory" then start adding parts back in one at a time until is stops beeping -- the last part is highly suspect when the PC stops posting. Good Luck.

Small update I guess, looks like I have to buy a small internal speaker to check for beep codes. Ordered that but it won't arrive until Monday, so any ideas are appreciated
