Basically I'm running sli gpus and a low end gpu for obs rendering the low end card can get up to 80c max temp can this damage the liquid cooler on the card above the air cooled one.

Solution
The GPU is 80C not the card which, I presume, isn't even touching the water block. You can use a thermometer to measure the air temps. The closer they are, the more the fan will improve things.
What's the temp of the cards above ? What's the coolant temp ?

Many of today's better cases (i.e Phanteks) have fan mounts on the back of the HD cage, that are positioned nicely to blow fresh intake air between vcards. In my son's Enthoo Luxe build, his upper card (air cooled) was 10C higher than the lower .... after adding just (1) 1500 rpm fan, they now are the same temp.

Top liquid @ 55c max---| sli
Mid liquid @ 48c max---| sli
Low air @ 80c max
Loop @ 40c max

The liquid loop I'm not entirely what the max temp is because it's based off of room temp it's normally about 10-20 higher then room temp

Basically I was wondering since the air card can get so hot if it could damage the liquid cooleder on the gpu above it

The one above it has a GPU temp of 48C ... your coolant is likely <5C above that.

Think about this tho.... Your top SLI card is obviously being more affected by the lower SLI card's exhaust than the lower SLI is by the rendering card

Ya might want to ajust that loop so the cards are fed in parallel rather than sequential

I must have explained that poorly, if that's the conclusion you have drawn. With your set up, as is ... the only changes I would make is to:

1. Re-pipe the liquid feed to the SLI'd water cooled cards so that they were fed in parallel rather than in series. This would put them both at the same temperature and likely get you a better stable OC.

2. I would add a fan to the back of the HD cage blowing towards the lower rendering card to get it more fresh air.

The 80C card is having no impact on the water cooled card above.
