Hi guys,

Built a new PC yesterday and having a weird problem. I have an ASUS Strix GTX 1080 Ti OC and Strix Z270E motherboard.

If I plug a HDMI or DisplayPort cable into the graphics card when the PC is off, the system won't turn on. I get a brief flash of lights and that's it. When I remove the same cable from the GPU and insert it into the mobo, everything works fine, PC boots up etc.

While the PC is running I can then plug the monitor cable into the GPU, and it works! If I do a restart in Windows the GPU output still works when it reboots. But with a cold boot, the system won't turn on again.

I noticed another user posted the same question already, with the same GPU and mobo too (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3472754/computer-start-monitor-plugged-gpu-starts-unplugged-plugged-onboard-video.html), but got no definite answer.

I have removed and reseated the graphics card, and the power LEDs above the two 8-pin sockets on the card are white, suggesting they both have power.

Specs:
Intel i7 7700K
ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1080 Ti OC
ASUS ROG Strix Z270E motherboard
Corsair H100i v2
EVGA Supernova 850 P2 850W PSU
Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200Mhz 16GB x2

Thanks!
