Ok, so I was trying to fix an over 1tb drive in 32-bit XP (yes i'm stupid), and it worked. It only showed 700 gigs though (I know why now), and I deleted the partition. A few months later, I put it in a computer that's worth a * for fixing, and Windows 7 x64 is recognizing it, but in disk management its 128GB unallocated with a not initialized error. I'm pretty sure the MBR is *, but is there an easy way to fix it?

Solution

Then it is quite probably a dead drive.
As in D E A D.

Did you not see me say "not initialized", I can't delete a partition on it. I can't do anything until it's fixed enough to "initialize". The drive I'm working on is somewhat known for failing, but when I got it working on XP I knew it still had hope. I just corrupted something there.

So what happens if you try to Initialize it?
