Intel engg version cpu safe?

Hi guys, i was looking for a a used 1151 cpu in aliexpress. Then i came across many intel confidential i7 cpu's. From my small research i understood that they are property of intel and illegal to be sold. So is it safe for me to buy one of these?

Also, i don't understand why it is 2.2ghz when compared to original i7 6700. Still, would this cpu be a good choice for gaming over something like i3 7100?

As already said by everyone here, these cpus are intel property and they are not allowed to be sold. Apart from this, these cpus were distributed to intel partners to be tested before hitting production and finally arriving to the consumers as the final products. They may have quite a few issues since they are "testing subjects", which means that they may have higher power consumption, higher TDP, lower clocks, be unstable at overclocking and I have even read that they may lack some instructions but I'm not sure about that. In any case I would stay away from any ES.

These are all prototypes to see what they could get the actual 6700 to do. Some work and some have issues you never know what you can get.

Because aliexpress is a very large Chinese company.
Wanting to and actually doing are two different things.
