Earlier this year, my brother decided to build me a low-medium spec gaming computer. He bought 4GB RAM, an i3, and a GTX 650.

Today I decided I will upgrade my computer so it has another 4GB of ram, making 8 GB. I visited Maplin, asked if they have a stick of 4GB ram that will work with my computer and the other stick. They said yes, so I bought it.

I brought it home, installed it in my PC without any flaws. I launched CPU-Z and checked the 'Memory' tab. It said this:

That's good. It's what I have.

But just to make sure it was working, I went into the system information and it came up with this:

That's weird. CPU-Z says I have 8GB of RAM but my system specs only say 4GB installed.

Could someone explain either why it's like this or how I can fix it so my PC uses the 8GB I have?
