I currently have an old lenovo pc that I want to upgrade. It has a Lenovo Tilapia CRB mobo, and I want to upgrade it's cpu. Problem is, I dont want to upgrade the mobo. Through a bit of research, I found out that the motherboard will accept anything that is below or identical to a "PhenomIIX4 @ 955Mhz or 945Mhz /8M/AM3 C3". I want to get a Phenom ii x4 955 95w, but I don't know if this processor meets those requirements.

Here is the link for the processor : https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Quad-Core-Processor-HDX955WFK4DGM-PGA-938/dp/B0090YYM9M.

And here are the specs for my motherboard according to CPU-Z:
Lenovo Tilapia CRB
Chipset: AMD 780G
BIOS: Lenovo Version D2KT25BUS

Solution
no clue, a "lenovo tilapia CRB" isn't a motherboard type. Furthermore the AMD 780G was BOTH a AM2+ chipset and a AM3 chipset; which confuses the issue greatly. Finally, even if a socket and cpu match, your motherboard's bios ultimately determines the cpus it will take.

from some searching with the clues you left, it's looks like it's an AM3 motherboard, and from what others are saying on the lenovo forums, pretty much any of the older am3 cpu should be fine. Something like a PhenomII x4 945be, or yes, even a 955 should work.
