Hi,

Please could someone advise me as to how good the following build is for PC gaming?

I'm looking to play Mass Effect Andromeda, Dishonoured 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, and The Secret World MMO. It would be cool if it was to some extent future proof too. I don't need absolutely top-end performance - gameplay is more important to me than perfect photo-realism lol.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Corsair Carbide Series 200R CC-9011041-WW
Intel Core i5-7600K
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 LED
MSI Z270 SLI PLUS
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 WindForce OC 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready
SanDisk Plus 120GB
WD Blue 1TB
ASUS DVD-REC Blu-Ray BW-16D1HT

I have a monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard too obv.

I would look at the 8 core Ryzen. If that's too much, look at the 6 core Ryzen 1600. That is what I have, and am overclocked on the stock cooler. That would open your budget a little but give you good performance for your money.

I won't recommend the 7600k. Only reason is because it's only a quad core. It's a fine cpu, but Ryzen CPUs have more cores and the 1600/1600x compete pretty well against it I think. Not only that, Intel will be releasing coffee lake pretty soon and i3 CPUs are supposed to be quad core, i5 is supposed to be 6(no hyperthreading). i7 6 core with hyperthreading.

I think coffee lake will be good, but with those releasing soon, I won't recommend any Intel unless you are talking about 7700k for a current build. That said, my 1600 at 3.7ghz especially with a nvme SSD is lightning fast now. Very pleased.

Btw, if my spelling or grammar is bad, I typed this on my phone.

Omg that's so kind of you, that looks great. I'm kind of overwhelmed, that's very cool of you to go to a local site for me.

I can afford this build. :D

Thanks very much once again.
