Hi, overclocked my 4770k to 4.3 and had to raise voltage to 1.240. Is that voltage ok or is it too high? Also one more, will voltage always stay same when cpu is overclocked?

Solution
1. I have my Vcore set at 1.3875 (4.7 Core / 4.4 cache) ... when under stress test, it's usually slightly higher than that

2. Unless you turned off Intel's power saving features, CPU will ramp down to 800 MHz when idling . Im playing a game and have about 8 programs running and voltage is 1.21 w/ BIOS set at 1.3875

3. Voltage will automatically bump up (0.10 - 0.13) above BIOS setting when AVX instruction sets are present

That's what CPU voltage offset mode is for in the BIOS. It will throttle back the voltage to idle just like default settings (1.1v??) even if you have Vcore set to 1.24v. I'm specifically referencing that for ASUS boards. Not sure what other motherboard makers may call it for a similar operation.
