Computer won't boot. I tried the steps listed on the forum with no results. I'm out of ideas.

Hello everyone,

I'm having a really difficult time with this build and starting to get really frustrated. My computer will not boot. The fans start to spin for a second and then stop.

I went out and bought a system motherboard speaker but no beeps sound. No post-code numbers show on the motherboard either. PSU is the most common culprit and so I went out again and bought a new PSU. The PSU works fine (PSU fan starts spinning) but I'm still having the same issue. So I thought maybe the motherboard might be the problem. I went out again and bought a new motherboard. This still didn't solve my problem. I went out and purchased new RAM. Still same problem. At this point I've pretty much purchased a new computer and just said screw it and went and got a new CPU. The motherboard power cable is properly plugged into the motherboard as well as the CPU power cable. Nothing is shorting out the board as this is all being performed on an anti-static bag. I have tried using one stick of RAM instead of two. And I made sure they were in the correct slot according to the motherboard manual. I have also tried having the XMP switch in both the on and off position. I have tried clearing the CMOS. The CPU was installed correctly with the arrow in the correct orientation. No pins are bent on the motherboard. The CPU cooler is installed and fan plugged in correctly. I am only plugging in the essentials to boot the computer. No hard drives, GPUs, or accessories.

Specs
Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
ASRock - Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 ATX LGA 1151 Motherboard
Corsair - Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
EVGA - 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU cooler

At this point I'm at complete loss as of what to do next. I am more than frustrated especially since I have the same problem basically after a new build. Any advice received is greatly appreciated. I tried to be as detailed as I could. And I apologize in advance if the solution is obvious or if I have made some kind of rookie mistake. Thank you

Yes. I did all of it out of the case on an anti-static bag to try and isolate the issue.

Not to steal your thread but I have the same problem, BUT my computer worked for almost 2 years before it happened. changed all parts now and did the same steps as you. What's going on?

I asked on the forum but got no answers so if you figure something out please tell me what you found?

I think it's time to RMA the motherboard. Sounds like it died shortly after first boot. Whatever tiny piece of defective solder joint burned through and that was that. More than likely. COntact AS Rock and see what they say. Make sure you explain ALL of your troubleshooting that you've done.

Thanks for answers on my question but I think i "stole" the thread. Sorry Fowler2006. But I now did the same as you. I bought everything new. Waiting for it to arrive but hopefully everything will work unless something is doa. I concluded that my mobo was fried. After connecting ONLY mobo to psu, the psu still restarted over and over. So now I'm waiting for a Rog strix z270e board with i7-7700k. And a evga 750 Gold psu. When I was at it I got rid of my gtx 980 and ordered 1080ti. So now I got a computer for a couple of years i hope!

BUT i'm curious about thread starters problem. Did you find out anything?
