I'm getting some parts for free off my sister boyfriend. I'm having 4x 4gb corsair vengeance ram. Amd fx 8350 cpu . MSI 970 motherboard and a cooler master fan. I have around another £500 to spend on parts. Just asking for any parts to add or replace from the pc . I would like the PC to contain an ssd to improve overall running speed. Just give me some advise to on what to replace and what to get.

Solution
So a good quality 450w PSU and GPU GTX1050Ti. SSD and HDD is down to you, I wouldn't get an SSD under 240Gb but that's £100 on its own. Also manage expectations, that cpu is showing its age in modern games but is generally fine for 60fps.

Any i7 will need a new motherboard and a modern i7 will need new DDR4 RAM. Also an i7 is a high end cpu, the 1050Ti is an entry level gpu. The 1050Ti is a good pairing for the FX8350 but not an i7.

If you are going to do a cpu upgrade you probably should consider a better gpu now if budget allows. Also dont fixate on the i7, Ryzen is very good for the money and any time now Intel should announce their new generation CPU's which the i5 & i7 will have 6 cores.

What resolution and Hz monitor will you end up with? That would dictate the best gpu to pair with a stronger cpu.
