Hey there,

I am trying to make a very simple print server out of an old HP t5540 thin client. Because I have limited hard disk space (2GB) I am making one out of an old OS, in this case Windows server 2003 standard, although not supported by the thin client of course.

Before this OS, I tried Embedded POSready 2009, but on both OS's, I can install the printer by driver, print a test page, share the printer, but the client can not FIND the printer, not by automatic search nor by TCP/IP search. It does redirect itself to the "finding the TCP/IP port" followed by the "need additional port information" (not sure what the exact name is, my Windows is in Dutch). It asks me to select the right driver, which I do, but it will not let me print a test page. Also when the printer is not connected, all of the above still happens. Anyone knows what I am doing wrong?

EDIT: I have an wireless dongle in the thin client, and it is connected to the same network as the client.

Solution
never mind, I fixed it. Somehow I cannot search for the printer in the Add Printer wizard, but opening the Network tab (below My PC) it detects the printserver, and logging in to that, I can see the shared printer, which I can connect to.
