I am deciding to buy a Gigabyte Edition of Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB G1 Gaming so I want to ask that would my cpu which is Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz Bottleneck the Graphics Card? I have 4GB of DDR2 Ram and the CPU is not Overclocked.

Solution

Then get the 1050 Ti. It will give you a reason to build that new PC. ;)

*In the mean time, $10 isn't much and if your motherboard supports Core 2 Quads I suggest finding a cheap Q8400 or similar to put in your current system. It will give it more legs in newer games.
Yes, in every way. But, if you think you might be able to upgrade to a new system anytime within the next year or so it might not be a bad idea to get it.

If you're not expecting to upgrade to a new system, a GT 1030 would be more suitable. Also, a Core 2 Quad Q8400 for $10 on Ebay couldn't hurt either.

Core 2 Duo will limit you. Approximate guess would be Core 2 Duo would give average 20-25fps while Core 2 Quad would give average 30-35fps.

I'm not sure GTA5 will even load on that system. I think I was in another thread a few days ago where someone said it needs a quad just to open.

You need the C2Q 6600 just to let it open/run. The C2D just isn't strong enough.

the model no is hp compaq dc7900 convertible minitower

Yes it supports Core 2 Quad https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01570344

Intel Core 2 Quad Processors:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 processor 2.33 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor 2.50 GHz, 6 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB Featuring Core 2 Processor with vPro Technology
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 processor 2.66 GHz, 12 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB Featuring Core 2 Processor with vPro Technology
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 processor 2.83 GHz, 12 MB L2 cache, 1333 MHz FSB Featuring Core 2 Processor with vPro Technology

I believe it will even support the other Q8xxx and Q9xxx models not listed, such as Q8400. But whichever is cheapest with highest clock speed would be best.

ok thanks for suggesting
and is Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9770 a good processor for my pc?

be aware that you will have to get a good cooling system and eventually a new power supply too, if you upgrade from a e8500 with 65W to an QX9770 with 136W max.
It´s a very good CPU if you get one under 30$. But those could be sold at like 200$

Also your BIOS CPU microcode could not be compatible to this CPU
