EVGA Gtx 1060 6gb running at half FPS cant figure out why

I recently built a new computer for my girlfriend and ended up with the following:

Cpu: ryzen 1600 overclocked to 3.8 ghz /stock cooler
Mobo: Tomahawk B350 atx form factor
PSU: New evga 600w
GPU: evga ssc 1050ti
Ram: evga 16gb 3000 speed

We then took back the 1050ti for a 1060 6gb ssc.

I run a similar rig but with an I5 6600k and a evga gtx 1060 6gb sc. We ran valley bench mark extremeHD but she was averaging in the low 30s with min frams around 17 while I was easily getting 60-80 fps.

I have ensured our 6 pin+2 is connected properly to the 8 pin of the gtx 1060 in her rig. I uninstalled previous driver and installed latest Nvidia driver. Power plan is set to high performance.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why she is getting such low FPS. Am I missing something obvious? Is there something wrong with the gpu itself?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm... the cables shouldnt be the problem...
Check 2 things...

First of All... temperatures... you can use Hardwaremonitor... check both CPU and GPU temps
And second... Take a look if the GPu is even sitting in the right slot...
Maybe your motherboard has slower PCIe Slots...

There often are PCIex16 and PCIex8 or even slower ports...

Hello Steve...

So if i understood it right your 1050 TI makes 60-80 FPS in the Benchmark and the 1060 makes around 17 - 30 ?
If yes i would check your benchmark settings again... i wouldnt be able to explain it differently than a different bechmark setting...

Maybe you accidently ran the 2 or 4k Benchmark instead of the 1080p bench?

So actually we initially had a 1050ti and installed drivers but ended up replacing it with a evga 1060 6gb SSC. I uninstalled previous driver then reinstalled it but still no luck. As far as benchmarks in valley, they are identical. Both extremeHD preset on 1080p monitors. For the monitor she is using we have an HDMI to dvi cord. Do you think this would impact performance at all?
