In which slot should i put my GPU in ?

Hello everyone!

I own a XFX R9 280x DD Black Edition with 3GB,
My Motherboard is the following,

My question now is, in which slot should i put my graphicscard in ?

I heard slots give different performance for the GPU and im kind of a newb with this.

The second one from the top. Where it says PCIE 3.
PCI-E 3.0 x16 is the highest performance giver. 2.0 also works but you lose like 10% performance.

Thank you! I had the graphic card in the first socket and the middle one really gives me more performance, 60 instead of 49-55 in game like for honor and i can set settings higher.
