I cannot see how I can specify what video adapter I am using in my MSI Z270-A Pro bios. Things are good when I use VGA on mobo, But when I use DVI-D it won't post. My end objective is to use DVI-D on GTX 1070, but I can't post when I install the graphics card.

As has been suggested, your graphics card is either not being powered, not initializing, or it is otherwise dead.

The VGA connection on the mobo uses the on-board graphics in your CPU, which takes the graphics card out of the equation.

More info would help. You should not have to specify anything in the BIOS unless it was changed previously.

The 1070 graphics card has been installed with 6+2 from psu as required. VGA was disconnected when 1070 was being tested. The 1070 has been tested in both the PCI E1 and E4 slots. Power was removed between configuration changes. I can't determine if the 1070 has been initialized.

I have tried both dvi-d and hdmi on 1070 with no luck. I have installed the card in both PCI-E1 and E4 with no luck. The fans and lights all come on when I power up. How can I know if the card i initalized. The only thing that works os VGA on the mobo. VGA dis connected whenever 1070 was tested.
