Hi, I recently bought a Thermaltake 750w RGB PSU. I plugged everything into my MSI z97s motherboard and i go to boot my PC and i hear this quiet "buzzing" noise for around a second and then it goes away and nothing will turn on. I am stumped on what to do and any support would be appreciated.

Solution
You may, you may have just gotten unlucky with the new one. I usually prefer a Corsair or evga myself. Seasonic is well respected also. I'm not the biggest fan of thermaltake for psu's at least. They make many great products, but not fond of all the psu's they make.

I did put back in my old PSU and it worked just fine. So i decided to do the "paper clip trick" and the PSU turned on so i don't think its a defective unit.

If the old one works and new one doesn't, I'd return it for a better one. I've seen psu's bad before where they would give enough power to spin up fans etc but not actually allow the system to boot.

If the system works with your old unit and the only part changed was the psu, then that doesn't leave much else.

well the issue is the reason i bought a new PSU was because my pc kept shutting down under stress but it wasn't overheating which led me to believe i had a faulty PSU.
