Problem: My computer kept getting blue screens, but it always booted to windows after a quick restart. Yesterday night it blue screened and could not boot to BIOS at all, it doesn't even get a signal through to the monitor.

History: When my computer was working, I ran windows memory diagnosis and the program said there is a hardware problem. I didnt read much into it, so I dont have info from the diagnosis. The blue screens started occurring when I started playing a demanding game (Mass Effect Andromeda). I am guessing that due to the weather (its summer right now and its really hot) and the large amount of dust inside the computer, something fried.

Details:
- The error message from when windows blue screened was usually "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" (If I remember correctly).
- next to one of the ram sticks, there was this dark-ish dust looking powder on the side closest to two capacitors (blown up capacitor maybe?).

What I did in order:
1. I removed both ram sticks and tried each one individually in each slot, no luck there.
2. I tried pressing the reset button in my mother board, no luck there either.
3. Thinking that maybe the RAM was at fault, I went out and bought a 4GB ram stick (same voltage as the ones I had and the same matching speed) and tried placing it in each of the ram slots, same problem.
4. I took out the battery from the mother board and put it back in, didn't help.
5. I believe its not: the video card (since since I plugged the DVI cable into the motherboard, still the same issue), the hard drive (I tried a different hard drive, same issue) or the RAM (since I bought new ram and it still didnt work).

Computer Specs:
Windows 10 64bit

This (currently) broke college student appreciates any help!

If there is a blown capacitor it would look like:

Motherboard would be defective or you could replace the blown capacitors.

Remove the video card, place one RAM stock into a DIMM slot (cycle through all slots), plug the video cable into the motherboard
Remove the power plug from the wall and press the reset button for about 5 seconds, which you can find directly on the motherboard between the POWER and OC GENIE button.

Any beeps or fans spinning? Blinking LEDs?

Have a look at the CPU socket pins of the motherboard. Any bent pins visible or other than gold colored ones?

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it!

I dont have a motherboard speaker, so I can't hear any beeping. All the fans are spinning and the blue lights on the motherboard all seem to be on.

Based on the link you gave me, it doesn't look like I have a blown capacitor...

I'll try you suggestions as soon as I can.

Thanks again!
