Alright here it goes, and bear with me its a strange problem! I had my 5.1 set working perfectly before, using Realtek HD audio drivers that i got with my mobo. Yesterday my neigbour came by to complain about sound, so i had to plug in my headphones. Today i wanted to switch back to my 5.1 set so i put the cables back in. Turns out they now dont work in 5.1 anymore. I have 3 wires, 1 for the front, 1 for the back and 1 for the mid/sub. Everytime i plug the third wire in that set doesnt work. So if i start with my front wire, they work. I then plug my back wire in and they work as well, then i plug the mid/sub wire in and they dont work. When i switch it around and start with my mid/sub wire they work, then i plug my back in and they work after which i plug my front in and they dont work. You get the idea 
I'm lost for words and I really dont know what the problem might be. Ive already reinstalled the drivers but that didnt do anything So if anyone has any idea what it might be i'll be forever in your debt!
