RAM Speed Noob Question

So I just finished my first build with no hiccups. I'm pretty happy with everything but my 3000 MHz RAM is running at 2133 MHz according to my BIOS

I have a Asrock Fatal1ty B350 mobo and within the bios it seems fairly easy to just set the frequency for the ram to a higher speed, but is it as simple as that? If i override the ram speed from 2113 to 3000 (or whatever the closest value is) is there any potential negative implications, should I instead be trying to get the 'detected' speed up to 3000?

Or is there some other legitimate reason my ram is running at 2133? I bought it used but I'm pretty positive I got a good set of sticks

Thanks for your help!

The R7 1700 has a native RAM frequency support of 2666MHz. If you set the RAM higher than that it´s overclocking. You can try to run the RAM at 3000MHz, if it won´t boot after the attempt, just reset the BIOS and try with different settings.

Your RAM was tested with these timings and this voltage at 3000MHz:
15-17-17-35
Voltage
1.35V

If you set it to 3000, itll be fine, boards usually default ram speed to its slowest setting

If you install RAM it will load the basic JEDEC Standard for DDR4 and that is 2133MHz. To set it to the right speed a normal RAM Module has additional Profiles stored (XMP Profiles[Intel Extreme Memory Profile]) with the advertised speed, and sometimes with additional settings. Just select the right XMP Setting in the BIOS and it should go to 3000. If there is no XMP Profile you can look up the RAM Settings in the manufacturers website and set them manually.
