I'm selling my internal hard drive which I used to store my photos in.

I've tried to use DBAN but it doesn't seem to work so I first formatted my hard drive and then used active@killdisk to wipe my hard using the free version.

I tried to use free software to see if the data can be recovered and it couldn't. But I'm wondering if there are more advanced softwares or programs which allow my data to be recovered? Theres just private family pictures on there and no personal information but I would still like to be sure that it won't get recovered.

Solution
After 2-3 zero-fills, sell it and worry not. Only super-expensive hardware and software can even try to make a dent in data recovery -- according to the scuttlebutt on The 'Net.
