Hey there guys. I was hoping one of you would have an answer, since I've run out of ideas. I recently bought a used gtx 670 over ebay, and when it arrived I was having some issues. When I installed it in the intended system (asrock h170m pro4, 8gb ddr4, 500w evga bronze, i3-6100), i got some nasty artifacting (blue lines and dots) and the driver woukldn't install. I then moved it to another computer (intel h57 motherboard, 6 gb ddr3, same psu, i7-860) The artifacting went away and the driver installed without a hitch. However, with the driver (multiple iterations from nvidia) installed, the computer would only start in safe mode. I have no idea what could be causing this issue, so I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

If it was looking ok in second computer until the moment you installed nvidia drivers, it might have simply been using on board graphics up to that point, and as soon as you installed vga drivers, and it switched to the card, it crapped out. Double check this, to make sure it's not an issue with the drivers. You can test this by starting the other computer without any video card in. If it starts ok and you see the screen, but then you put in video card, switch to it in nvidia controls and it craps out, then you know it's your card.

Alright, well seems like the gpu is dead judging from your tips and the testing I've done, so I guess I get to deal with that. Lucky me. Anyway, thanks for the tips.
