I have a 1TB hard drive which is nearly full so i was thinking of getting a 2 TB to go alongside it.

Im not interested in an SSD.

My question is, after ive installed it, is it as easy as that? Do i have to do anything extra to make sure things are being saved onto it like steam games?

I assume ill have to change the download destination but is that it? can the 2 hard drives work together with one having some games while the other has the rest of the games?

Would it be better if i move all the games onto one and keep the other for files and such?

Solution
To manage space between the two drives and where things go:

Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

(yes, it says SSD. Same thing for a second HDD)

For Steam games, this:
Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

Solution
1. In your browser, set it to "Always ask you where to save files"

2. I have never bothered to move "my documents" stuff as I have always just saved where I want

3. We don't use Steam for anything so can't help ya there... w/o steam games do where ya tell them to go.

should i move all my games to one hard drive? or does it not matter if games are stored on different HDDs?

i was thinking of having my steam games on one HDD and my files on * on another, would that be fine?

You can have them on multiple drives, or even different folders on multiple drives.
No problem.
