Hello, i have upgraded my cpu from an i5 650 to a Xeon x3470. I have to say i have seen a huge performance in gaming. I can play gta v battlefield 1 on ultra settings at 50-60 fps while before, with the i5 650, i was lagging hard at medium settings. My gpu is running at the maximum performance at those games.

Though on low threaded games like cs go and league of legends my gpu (Rx 460) and cpu are not stressed at all, i get gpu fps and usage bouncing, and my cpu is not even using all the threads.

So i want to know your opinion if i should overclock or not: should overclock fix the problem?

My cpu is a used one from aliexpress. By overclocking it will reduce my cpu life? Will i require to buy more fans? Also my motherboard is an oem one from dell inspiron 580, and my power supply is 300 watts.

I'd be surprised if there are any overclocking options within your BIOS anyway, and, given only a 300 watt PSU, you are probably lucky it is running as good as it is......

Future GPU and PSU upgrades will be limited by PSU, which might be limited by your case...

Time to replace everything next upgrade cycle....; if you reduce your graphic settings enough to get 60 FPS, you might be happy a year or so....
