Hi All,

My graphics card and my sound card dont perfectly line up with my case when screwing the back plate in, you have to slightly bend the back plate a few mm's for it to fit, is it because my case is 6-7 years old and the standard for measurements has changed over time ?

The measurements haven't changed, it'll be due to less accuracy/poor quality control in case manufacture for that particular brand of case - - it was probably a relatively cheap one. More expensive case have better quality control during manufacturer.

If the cards work okay, don't worry about it or buy a better-quality case.

The case was top quality, a cooler master HAF X

That shoots me down then!

But, just I said, the standard for the relevant measurements haven't changed so something must be off with your case or mobo.

Mobo mounted slightly too far one way or the other, that would mean the expansion slots and the case backplate slots aren't lined up exactly.

If not that, then I don't have the answer.

I have googled this question and found many others with similar issues, when I say it doesnt line up, I mean the screw hole isnt quite far enough to the left, it fits in the slot perfectly fine, people have said just slightly force it, so I dont think its an issue.

No chance for my case to bend so i just put some pressure on the back plate of the card, seems to do the trick !, however my sound card is way off, but seems to work fine regardless
