I have a MSi Am1I motherboard,an Anthlon 5350 R3 and 4 gb ram 800Mhz and I would like to upgrade my ram.But i feel that if i buy another 4 gb ram it wont work because i am kind of new with pc.What RAM would you recommend me to buy?Or stay with this RAM?

Solution
There may or may not be a compatibility issue. Since you want 8gb, why not go with one 8GB. You can be sure it will work. Since the motherboard supports single channel getting one 8gb ram is better than two 4gbs.
Next time when you are thinking of a Ram upgrade, you can buy one more 8gb, instead of removing the old 4gb and buying a new one.

Peace.

Your motherboard supports single channel and upto 32gb. So its not mandatory to add of the same size since its not dual channel. You can add ram upto 32gb combined on both the slots but make sure they match exactly the same in all terms(speed, timing etc) for avoiding the compatibility issue.

Good Luck.:) Peace.

if you want 8gb in total and want to keep the old ram as well, then buy 4gb ram with the match to the old ram in all terms. So old ram(4gb)+new ram(4gb)= total ram 8gb.

if you don't want to use the old ram get one 8gb DDR3 1600 MHZ ram since your motherboard supports DDR3 1333/1600 and your CPU supports 1600mhz.

You are carrying 800mhz ram? its better you upgrade it.

Peace.
