So i'm 17 and have a job where I get paid $9 and hour. I bought the case, psu, hard drive and cooler for my pc i'm planning to build but my parents want me to send it back. I love them to death but they are probably the most ignorant and stubborn people I know, they never want to acknowledge that anything they say towards me could even be percieved as incorrect, so i'm really nervous thinking that I won't be able to convince them, since and friend who knoes about pcs and I have been planning this for a while. Help?

No offense but you are probably better off saving for & purchasing a laptop geared for whatever you will be taking in college as well as what you want to do with it, like gaming.

And if you present your parent with a plan like that, you just mind find that's what they've been saving for also (and why they want you to send the desktop stuff back).

Regardless of any advice you may get from complete strangers here on the site, the only solution is to discuss this in a mature fashion with your parents. Keep in mind, they have your best interests at heart, whether you agree with them, or not.
