Hi,

After doing my fair share of research I'm planning on building a new pc. My choice of best bang for the buck CPU is the Ryzen 5 1600. (If not good, some suggestions would be wonderful.)

I'm searching for a proper GPU for it which isn't preferably too expensive but can cost some. I'm planning to mostly game on it and do some modding and light editing on it, nothing big though.

Choosing RAM, Case and Motherboard shouldn't be too hard but suggestions would be nice. Main help I need is the choice of GPU though. (I'm planning on 2 8gb sticks of RAM btw.)

Solution
Choice of GPU greatly depends on:
1) The types of games you play (are they GPU-intensive? or non-GPU intensive?)
2) The resolution you will be playing at (1920 x 1080? 2560 x 1080? 2560 x 1440? 3440 x 1440? 4K?)
3) The refresh rate of your monitor (60Hz? 75Hz? 120Hz? 144Hz? 165Hz?)
4) The sync technology of your monitor, if any (G-Sync? FreeSync? None?)
5) The in-game graphics settings you wish to play at (Low settings? Medium settings? High settings? Ultra/Maxed settings?)
6) The acceptable framerates you wish to achieve (60fps? 75fps? 100fps? 144++ fps?)
7) The case size/dimensional clearance for the GPU.
8) The budget you are willing to spend.

Generally, if you want to game at maxed settings on a:

1080p/60Hz monitor = GTX 1060-6GB or RX 580
1080p/~120Hz or 1440p/60Hz monitor = GTX 1070
1080p/~144Hz+ or 1440p/~100+Hz monitor = GTX 1080
1440p/~144Hz+ or 4K monitor = GTX 1080 Ti

The actual FPS would vary from game-to-game.

Answering a few question...

The 1600 is great option and it's being considered(at least in my opinion) the current sweet spot for gaming, considering price X performance.
About your Case and RAM
Pick a case that has good airflow and is size-compatible(larger or at the same size) with the mobo you chose.

For RAM, Ryzen builds loves faster RAM, so a try to at least grab a 2666MHz model, preferably 3000Mhz. Go for a kit like 2x4GB or 2x8GB DDR4(best option) for a nice Dual-Channel config.

And mobo, a decent B350 should be more than enough for every need you might have.

Also, the advice from @raisonjohn is very precise, consider it when you choose your GPU.

Thanks for the tips, I totally forgot that much more info is needed for some good suggestions. I have a 1080p 60hz monitor, it does not have any sync tech. At the moment I don't play very high end games but I am planning to, if they're GPU intensive I'm not sure. I would prefer to play be able to play everything new at highest settings but I can easily lower them if needed since I've always needed to do that with my current build. 60 Fps is good, higher would be nice. I could live with above 50 or above, so I'm not picky there. I'm still looking for a good budget case but it would most likely be a rather "normal" sized case, nothing big. I don't really know how to explain it better. The budget is not higher than 350 euro's preferably, but I can have some wiggle room.

Thanks.

Well really the only option is the 1060 6gb , RX 580 would be my first choice personally but they're still priced way too high if you can actually find them.

With a ryzen 1600 & a 1060 there isn't really anything out there that can't be played at a solid 60fps (if not at the actual highest settings possible then at least at high settings)

Big gap in the GPU market between €280 & €420 , the 1060 is near the lower end of that pricing then its a €100 + jump to the 1070 with nothing in between

You're welcome. With such 350 budget, you'd definitely want a GTX 1060-6GB (nothing less) for such gaming requirements you are eyeing, considering your current setup.

For example (with ~40 euro savings):

Zotac - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB AMP! Edition Video Card (€306.94 @ Mindfactory)

or

Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB WINDFORCE OC 6G Video Card (€309.93 @ Mindfactory)

With a 1080p/60Hz, at maxed settings, you'd probably hover around 40/50-ish fps on games like GTA V, Witcher 3 and ROTR (lower fps on some graphic-intensive environments in-game). For non GPU-intensive games such as CS:GO, LoL or DOTA 2, you'll definitely reach 100+++fps with a GTX 1060-6GB (though it's for naught as your screen can only display at 60Hz).
